BUDDHA BEAT – Eclipse

Formed at the end of 2018, Buddha Beat is multi-ethnic and very localised, embodying what every Malaysian band ought to be: Cole Yew, a Chinese musician, and Krishna Armum, an Indian musician. Every member is a multi-instrumentalist who performs on electronic bass, electric guitar, and folk instruments from their own cultures. Put another way, Buddha Beat mixes electro-pop bases with the Hindustani tabla and the Chinese Di Zi flute, then adjusts the amplifiers to produce electric twangs that are reminiscent of Pink Floyd from the 1970s.
